“The Fashion Therapist” Marisol Colette: Aligning Your Style with Your Soul Written by: Rosa Linda Fallon
What we wear is often a reflection of who we are, how we are feeling, and what we want to achieve in life. Clothing is one of the most powerful expressions of individuality, so it is no surprise that what we wear would have an impact on our mental health and wellbeing. Asheville-based Therapeutic Image Consultant Marisol Colette (a.k.a. “The Fashion Therapist”) is a licensed therapist and expert fashion consultant who works to help people achieve a style that best fits them based on their own individual identity. Her background as a therapist brings a level of consciousness that is often overlooked in the world of traditional styling, ultimately helping individuals align their style to their soul and show up to the world in new, fresh ways.
It all started when she found herself making styling recommendations to her friends just for fun. “My friends would invite me over to style them. I was always doing stuff related to clothing, and it just came naturally to me,” she says. “I had this particular way of seeing the person for who they are and helping them find their own unique style based on their personality, who they were, and who they were becoming.”
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marisol holds a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Warren Wilson College and a Master’s of Social Work from Columbia University in the city of New York, and has had a decade-long career of working and teaching in the field of trauma healing. She knows how to help people heal from their past, redefine themselves, and move forward into their future.
So, Marisol brought together her expertise in fashion consulting and her career in trauma healing to start SolReflection in 2015, a fashion therapy consulting business based in Asheville, North Carolina. Marisol engages her clients from the heart, helping them refine their self-image to create long-lasting, life-changing results.
“When you feel powerful and comfortable in what you wear, you feel comfortable and powerful in everything you do,” Marisol states, referring to the emotional impact of fashion statements.
After working with Marisol, clients can expect to have a deeper understanding of themselves and become confident in their own unique self-expression. In the end, they will see themselves in a brand new light and move forward with a brand new confidence.
If you are ready to set your soul on fire, define and refine who you are by discovering your own self-expression through fashion, The Fashion Therapist is here to help you.
