Despite being used daily, bathrooms tend to be overlooked when it comes to refreshing their design. This may be because a full bathroom renovation is costly and can be a huge inconvenience, but applying top design trends to your space doesn't have to be. It can be as simple as adding a new color to the walls or updating fixtures and lighting.

The top bathroom trends range from wood-effect tiles and bold wallpaper to neutral accessories and black accents – colors and styles that interior designers and trend experts agree are most popular right now. 

So, whether you plan to completely renovate your bathroom or just tweak it with a few cosmetic changes, the following top 5 trends of 2022 are guaranteed to refresh your home. 

1. Marble 

While the use of marble in the bathroom is nothing new, these luxury stone slabs have proven to be more popular than ever this year. Instantly adding a luxurious feel to any space, favored choices include classic white marble with distinctive gray or gold veins, and black marble that gives a sleek, contemporary finish.

With the right lighting and accent colors, incorporating black accents can give your bathroom a sleek and sophisticated finish without overwhelming the space. Black is a timeless, classic, elegant color that is best used in modern or contemporary spaces. Incorporating this dramatic hue into your bathroom creates a chic vibe. Go bold with black tiles, paint, vanities, or countertops. Start small with black faucets or light fixtures.

Have you ever thought about wallpapering your bathroom? If not, 2022 could be the year to give it a try. In the highly stressful lives we all lead, our bathrooms are becoming more of a sanctuary – a place where we can be alone and practice mindfulness in a peaceful and private environment. Minimal changes can be made to achieve this effect such as choosing serene neutrals for your wall and towel colors and decluttering countertops. Simply add a few candles, luxurious bath bomb balls in a glass jar, a live green plant, or get an over-the-tub bath tray and stock it with your favorite designer soaps, a bath sponge, and your favorite classic novels.
